Today is the birthday of Judy Blume, a well-known and beloved author of children's, young adult and adult books. Throughout her career, her books have sold more than 80 million copies and have been translated into 31 languages.
She has a gift for writing books for children that perfectly capture what it is really like to be a kid - from worrying about freckles and being scared of thunderstorms to sibling rivalry and the awkwardness of growing up.
